Calculate your motor:

Desired operating voltage:*
(ca. 1.1 V per NiMH cell)
in Volt
Desired operating current:
(max. continuous current)
in Ampere
Desired rpm in rotations per minute
Optimizing for rpm accuracy
Minimal weight
Calculated input power: in Watt

The following motor from our range comes closest to these requirements:

Motor:*
Weight: in gramm
Available rpm: in rotations per minute
Price (standard version): in euro

* To display the motor diagram only these two fields, voltage and motor type, need to be filled. For a star configuration diagram append an S to the motor type. Example: 1920/8S

Please note: The calculation only yields an approximate choice.

Instructions for use

For this choice please provide the following three measures:

  • Operating voltage (under load with the current given below)
  • Operating current (maximal continuous)
  • Rpm (under load with the current given above)

Example

Desired data:

  • Racing boat (Drifter M) with 24 cells (GP 3700) - operating voltage is ca. 25 V
  • Run time ca. 5 min - average current 45 A - max continuous current 90 A*
  • Speed ca. 100 km/h - rpm 30,000

Result: Motor 2250 with 10 windings (2250/10)

* The maximal continuous current for racing boats is approximately twice the average calculated. (This is a result of the interval mode – full power on the straight legs / half power in curves – has been determined by telemetry measurements.) This value is very important for the optimal motor choice.

The thus determined continuous current of 90 A should also be used to select the proper controller current.
